Director Digital & Data

“Varied projects, new challenges every day and non-stop learning – this is what makes iCon so special in my eyes.”

The fact that digital projects were his personal strong suit was clear to Sebastian König when he was still at school. And this passion has brought him far. Before he took on his role as Director Digital & Data at innogy Consulting, he had already held management positions in the digital analytics departments of some big-name companies. The difference now is that in his management position at innogy Consulting, he not only focusses on employee and customer management, but can also put his expertise to use in projects first hand and in doing so bridge the gap between management and digital consulting. That is a definite plus point for him.

Digital pioneer with a clear goal

The thing he likes most about his job is the opportunity to build up the digital aspect within his management consulting activities. In doing so his purpose is clear: to be able to offer customers a consulting service that enables business and strategic knowledge to be seamlessly transferred into technical concepts and expertise. An example of how this works is his favourite project, the “Smart Pole Factory”. For this project, seemingly normal street lights were turned into multi-functional, networked, everyday assistants. Among other things, these innovative street lights, or “urban jungle navigators”, offer free WiFi and parking space navigation and act as charging stations for electric cars.

A well-rounded package

However, it is not just the exciting projects that Sebastian König likes about innogy Consulting. He also considers the very special corporate culture and exceptional solidarity between colleagues to be outstanding. In his opinion, this is actively promoted by the biannual consulting day events, which have stayed with him as positive memories. They give new employees the chance to get to know their colleagues in a relaxed setting as well as develop their careers with workshops and keynote addresses. For him, it is precisely this complete package consisting of challenging projects and a pleasant work environment that defines innogy Consulting as an employer.
